uisce [pronounced ish-ka, with the emphasis on the ish] is the gaelic for water. these little water access points litter our footpaths. they're irish fire hydrants, positioned beneath your feet. i walk over literally hundreds of them on my fifteen minute walk in to college each morning.
also: did you know that the word whiskey derives from the gaelic uisce beatha - literally 'water of life'. [1/3]
