#1077 | asgard exhibition launch | | [3]

i take a shortcut through collins barracks museum on my daily commute and one evening this month i happened to catch the 'no.1 army band and naval service guard of honour' (i had to look that up) at the launch of an exhibition of the asgard (the yacht used for gun running in 1914).

i hung around for a few minutes, just long enough to hear the shouted commands from the (female) drill sergeant and the opening bars of an appropriately ceremonial sounding tune, and, feeling slightly out of place amongst all the other dressed-up invited attendees, i quickly scarpered homewards.

ps. look, i'm back!

pps. look, look, comments!!

i have at long last upgraded to wordpress. i'm still tweaking the template (do you know how long it's taken to get it to look exactly the same as it did before!) so please forgive any glitches for the next few days.
