...emerging at last (if only momentarily) from the haze of sleepless nights, dirty nappies and feeding traumas to introduce you to our brand new son fionn.

born on thursday 22nd january, he's already 8 days old (though 3 days old in this photo) - so, sorry that it's taken a bit of time to update you here. it's been an amazing and wonderful and challenging and sometimes overwhelming 8 days, but we're all doing really well and i could happily spend whole days gazing down at his sleeping (or not sleeping) face.

i'm planning to write up the (full, gory!) details of his birth - more for myself than anything else, but given that it's taken nearly half an hour to compose this much, i'll leave that for another day...

ps. sending out big congratulations and all our best wishes and to fustar, jess and new baby willow who in her efforts to pip fionn to the post decided to arrive 6 weeks early - there's a girl who knows how to win a race ;)

pps. the da as usual has way more photos up than i do. hopefully i'll rectify that over the next few days (depending on fionn and his sleep patterns)
