last weekend we went visiting friends in co. clare and when we woke on saturday morning we were greeted by a frozen countryside. we went on a little sloe picking adventure through a gap in the hedge, ducking totoro-style beneath blackthorn tunnels, heading home as the thaw began to drip and the mud turned muddy again.
